Jerry Fishman
Director
Voice/Piano Faculty

Mr. Fishman’s producing career began in 1991 with an off-Broadway debut, co-writing and starring in his interactive, adaptation of George Bernard Shaw's comedy, The Music Cure. Other directing/ producing credits include the LIVE reality show, Take 2!, currently in production in NY. Also, the original one-man show The Songs that I Schlepped in New York and Tel Aviv, and Evita, in Norfolk, VA. Jerry is proud to have created The Children's Theatre Workshop-NY with 4-time Emmy nominated composer Birch Johnson, which produced six original musicals written by kids for kids with a CD entitled the Johnson & Fishman Songbook. He conducted Annie Get Your Gun at the celebrated Concord Hotel, and has performed with his quartet at such venerable locales as the Rainbow Room, The Metropolitan Museum and the Obie Awards. As a performer, Jerry danced with the Dallas Metropolitan & Boston Ballets, and also played across the country in multiple productions of A Chorus Line, with Tony-award winners Dick Scanlan, (Thoroughly Modern Millie) and director Tommie Walsh (A Chorus Line [orig. cast], Day in Hollywood…Ukraine).


Ray Mills
Guitar/Bass/Violin/Viola Faculty

A graduate Cum Laude from the Ithaca College School of Music Ray is an extraordinary guitar, bass, violin and viola teacher. He has performed and taught in all these disciplines including as a Sectional Coach, for the Northeast Youth Symphony Orchestras. His Suzuki approach to strings makes him very successful as do his years with the South Shore Conservatory outside Boston. Performances include Bass Player/Founder/Business Manager for Pulse, an R&B/Soul band and Nozmo King, an original soul/funk band. Congratulations Ray.

Cantor Miranda Beckenstein
Voice Faculty

Miranda Kark Beckenstein was born in Cape Town, South Africa, where she attended the University of Cape Town, earning a B.A. in English, Music and Drama, and a Performer’s Diploma in Opera. She subsequently studied voice and opera for 3 years at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London.

After returning to South Africa, Ms. Beckenstein forged a career for herself as a mezzo-soprano on the operatic stage, as well as in musicals, operettas, recitals and oratorios.

Upon immigration to the USA she entered the School of Sacred Music of Hebrew Union College, New York, leading to a Masters in Sacred Music and investiture as a cantor.

Vadim Ghin
Piano Faculty

Mr. Ghin is a graduate of the Juilliard School for the Performing Arts, is an accomplished concert pianist who has performed throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. His playing has been hailed by critics the world over as “charismatic… highly communicative… brilliant… a virtuoso of the piano.”

Vadim has taught at the Manhattan School of Music, The Juilliard School, and New York Univeristy. Mr. Ghin is also the author of eMedia’s Intermediate Piano & Keyboard Method – an interactive education software title.

Recently Vadim was the Head of Faculty at the Keys to Success piano school in Queens, and the Turnauer School of Music in Tenafly, NJ.

Ronen Itzik
Percussion Faculty

Ronen Itzik received his B.M. in performance from the Berklee College of Music, after receiving a scholarship from the school in 2000. He has also graduated with a M.M. degree from the Florida State University College of Music, in which he received a full scholarship, and a graduate assistantship, while gaining collegiate teaching experience. Among his teachers have been Ian Froman, Jamey Hadad, Joe Hunt, John Hazilla, and Hal Crook.

Ronen has been actively performing since 1992 throughout Israel, and since his arrival in the United States: New York City, New England, and the South East. He has performed with such artists as Joe Lovano, Dave Samuels, Marcus Roberts, Arnie Lawrence, Alon Yavnai, Marcus Printup, Vincent Gardner, Rich Perry, Harry Whitaker, Pat O'Leary, Vardan Ovsepian, Bruno Raberg, Rodney Jordan, Scotty Barnhart, Longineu Parsons, Kevin Bales, and Bill Kennedy.

Ziv Shalev
Guitar/Bass Faculty

Guitar player, composer, arranger and producer. Back in Israel, Ziv has released several singles and albums to the Israeli music industry. In addition, Ziv has performed and toured with numerous artists in the country, and in Europe. He also performed on Israeli prime time television. Ziv coordinated with many of Israel’s finest musicians; arranging for horns, strings for various orchestral projects.
 
In 2005 Ziv relocated to New York, studying at City College, where he concentrated on compostion and orchestration as well as in performance. (Student of David Del Tredici and Jonathan Pieslak). In 2008 he received the Ascap Warner/Chappel award honoring George and Ira Gershwin. Today, Ziv lives in NYC. He performs in venues/radio/T.V throughout the east coast and the rest of the United States in rock, funk, R&B, jazz and world music projects.
 
Ziv had the privilege producing/performing in projects such as:
Modern English, Sandra Bernhard, Ted Mason, Trifonas, Ariel Zilber, The Vinyl Stash, Danny Mclaughlin band, Magal, Modakai, Machine Gun Baby, Natalie Shahaf, Omar Alexander, Average Bar Band, Celeste Ray, 4 Celtic Women, The Sidetracks and Trifonas.

With over 10 years of experience in teaching Guitar, Bass, Ear Developing, Composition and recording arts, Ziv has developed an efficient way in which students progress rapidly and maintain a strong understanding of the material.

Oran Eldor

Matthew Meyer
Guitar/Piano Faculty

Over the past ten years, Matt has performed music worldwide.
Matt has composed a vast repertoire of original songs for guitar and piano. His tunes are rooted in folk, blues, and jazz. They’ve been performed throughout the east coast, San Francisco, and abroad in Spain, London and Switzerland. His shows have been described as ‘Extremely soulful, rich, colorful and a throwback to music and artistry that is slowly being forgotten…

Matt has tutored children ages eight through fourteen for four years in: guitar, voice, piano, bass, drums, congas, harmonica, saxophone, trumpet, violin and cello.

This Fall Matt will be attending The City College of New York where he will be working on a Master's degree in Jazz performance.


Shauli Einav
Winds Faculty

Saxophonist Shauli Einav has been teaching for the last 6 years privately and in community schools at his homeland of Israel.
In 2006 he enrolled to the prestigious Eastman School of Music, Rochester NY and earned a Masters degree in Jazz performance, while in Rochester Shauli worked as a teaching assistant, coaching jazz ensembles and teaching jazz history. He was nominated for the T.A prize in 2008. Shauli taught master classes at the Apollo Middle School, Greece NY and is part of the Eastman Jazz Summer Program faculty.
Shauli had also played in international jazz festivals and in NYC's jazz venues.

Reshma Shetty
Vocal Workshops Faculty

Since her graduation from the prestigious Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, with an Artist Diploma in Opera, Reshma’s career has expanded into many performance genres.
Some past roles include Maria (West Side Story), Musetta (La Boheme), Anne Egerman (A Little Night Music), and Zerlina (Don Giovanni). She has been a soloist at the Opera Festival di Lucca in Italy, AIMS Festival in Graz Austria and with the Washington DC Symphony Orchestra on Capital Hill. She was also the winner at the annual National Opera Association Competition. In 2006 she played the leading lady (Priya) in A.R. Rahman/ Andrew Lloyd Webber’s first National Tour of Bombay Dreams, Ayah in The Secret Garden at the 2006 Broadway Aids Benefit Concert, and Indira in Homeland at the Theater for the New City. In 2007 she was a lead actress in Jason Grotes 1001 at The Contemporary American Theater Festival and will at the end of the year make her big screen debut alongside Ally Sheedy and Ruby Dee in Steam.
