Our daughter,Rachel has been studying voice at KPMS for approximately one year. She has enjoyed this experience tremendously and has grown as a singer and as an individual in many ways. From the very beginning of their working relationship, her teacher took the time to get to know Rachel and established an atmosphere of trust and acceptance. This atmoshpere has facilitated the development of Rachel's vocal skills, self-confidence as a performer and, most importantly, has enabled her joy of singing to flourish. The supportive and enthusiastic demeanor sets the tone for maximum enjoyment and encourages Rachel to strive for the next level of achievement. Rachel looks forward to her weekly lessons, because she knows she will be given the opportunity to share her passion for music with someone who is responsive, encouraging and truly helps her stretch her skills and be her best. My husband Eric and I look forward to these lessons because that passion and joy are palpable and emanate from both teacher and student.
Rachel has always adored singing. Music is a central part of our life as a family. With her work at KPMS, Rachel's appreciation of music has deepened and become more sophisiticated. The voice lessons have also had a significant impact on Rachel's clarity of speech and articulation. With these improvements, and the aforementioned qualities of her voice teacher, has come an overall sense of confidence and increased willingness to take risks. These skills are invaluable for performing to be sure, but are equally critical to successful experiences in all aspects of life. We have experienced this warm and caring environment in all our interactions with you and your staff.

It would be our pleasure to discuss the incredible value of your music programs if anyone has further questions. Our Email address is: camlev@optonline.net.

My daughter, Stephanie has been studying voice with Jerry Fishman since 2002. I remember calling Jerry back in 2002. I had learned about him from my daughters’ dance teacher, so I knew that he had teaching, singing and theater experience. I knew that the task of choosing a voice teacher was important. What I didn’t know back then was that I was calling someone who would prove to be such a positive influence on my daughter. From the very beginning Jerry has always encouraged Stephanie to take challenges with her voice. Jerry’s patience with teenagers is endless and his positive attitude commendable. Jerry always comes to a lesson with many ideas and a smile. He teaches his students that their musical possibilities are endless. Stephanie’s self-confidence, self-expression and stage presence have noticeably improved. Jerry not only trains the voice, he trains the artist. His professionalism and passion for the arts is limitless. His enthusiasm is contagious.

What I like about KPMS, is that students have the opportunity to showcase their talents through recitals and performances at various venues. About a year and a half ago, Jerry decided to form a KPMS ensemble that would perform at various events and venues. Kilroy Kidz has participated in the successful concert for Katrina’s children, the Bronx Zoo Holiday Lights and various nursing homes. Moreover, Kilroy Kidz also offers the students the opportunity to produce and MC the performances.

Needless to say, I am glad I made that call!!!

I just want to thank you for bringing music into my children’s lives. With four kids and a household focused on athletics, your piano instruction is a welcomed taste of art.

What I appreciate most about your style of instruction is your acceptance of all four of my children’s varying amounts of time and commitment to piano. While Jillian and Olivia practice without prompting, Matt and Ben need reminders and tons of patience. There are weeks when they have been diligent with piano practice and you praise their dedication and progress. And there are weeks when no practice has taken place and you are still able to encourage them without making them feel bad.

Your rapport with my kids is awesome! But most amazing to me is your ability to keep Matt engaged. As a high school football captain and faced with the pressures of junior year, piano is not top priority in Matt’s life. But you are still able to push him along and turn his half hour weekly lesson into a relaxing and welcoming break in the midst of his stressful day. Matt is proud of his progress in piano. And, best of all, Matt now truly appreciates why I require a little art in his life!

Please feel free to use my name as a reference. I would love to share my words of praise.

Thank you for sharing your gift of teaching and love of music with my family.
