November 2007
Notes from the Director:
Dear Studio:
As we enter November we think about being thankful. We are thankful for your continued participation & dedication to your family’s musical talents. We are also thankful for all that we have, as you will read below.
In this Issue:
Being that we are engaged in a performing art we kicked off the performing year with the Kilroy Kidz hosting a benefit concert. We are also very excited to invite you & your friends to the debut of our Open House Project. Look for the Westchester/CT Studio Winter Concert dates & location.
As always feel free to contact our office with any questions, concerns or ideas. Also be sure to visit the website to get up-to-the-minute news, www.kilroyproductions.com .
Thank you for choosing KPMS to bring music into your family’s lives. We wish you a Thanksgiving filled with abundance & gratitude.
Jerry
KPMS Announces the Launch of the Open House Project:
We’re off & running! The 1st Open House scheduled and ready for you to invite your guests to. The people in your life, schools, carpools, sports teams, religious school classes, even commuter buddies. Invite them, & their children. We are especially interested in children who are looking fro a change in their musical education or
are interested in starting lessons.
It will be an informal meeting at home of Bonnie & Doug Weill, 10 Nancy Lance, Chappaqua, NY 10514. There will be performances by a few KPMS students, including a Kilroy Kid or two. There will be a short DVD of past performances & materials about who we are, & what we offer. There will even be an opportunity for them sign-up for lessons if that interests them or their children.
In short they will get all the information they need to choose whether KPMS is the right place for their family’s musical education.
We promise
o intimacy
o the chance to broaden your community of friends & family specifically around music
o the opportunity for the young musicians to share the ground they’ve taken.
If you cannot make this event, do not worry, we are planning another in early January & you are invited to host one in your community.
If you are interested in hosting an open house, or inviting people in your communities to one, please contact us at 917-533-7464.
Westchester & CT Studios Winter Concerts Set:
The dates & location for the KPMS Winter Concerts for the Westchester & CT studios are Monday & Tuesday, December 17th & 18th, 6:30PM. They will be held at the Katonah Village Library. To participate please contact the office by November 23. You will be given your child’s participation day. There is an additional participation fee. For directions, times & more information please visit the performance itinerary page on the website: www.kilroyproductions.com.
It’s piano tuning time:
It’s that time again. Twice annually is what is required to keep your piano, that piece of furniture/musical instrument, in shape and performing for years to come. It’s not even that it is a good idea, it is vital. The mechanism of the piano, with the fact that it is wood is all affected by the change in the humidity level. Proper tuning will ensure that it gets taken care of. For a list of piano tuners please visit our website www.kilroyproductions.com & look under musical resources. They are listed by preference, but are all capable. Remember now is the perfect time, before the weather really gets cold, and the heat comes on.

KPMS Faculty available for private functions
The talented teachers, who come to your house every week, are also brilliantly gifted performing artists, with careers in a plethora of musical genre. AND, they are available for parties, corporate events, b’nai mitzvah, etc. Just this year they have performed at a cocktail party & bar mitzvah. Just imagine the extra boost your family will get when their ‘teacher’ walks in with a small ensemble of musicians and creates the ambience of a memorable event. Please contact the office if you are planning an event that will require live music to lift it to the next level. 917-533-7464.
Note: The studio is closed for most Holidays and lessons are still available upon request. Please speak with your teachers to schedule the lessons
