New Talent arrives on Faculty:
We are pleased as can we can be to introduce a young vibrant talent from the Eastman School of Music. Her name is Chelsea Bonagura, and she will be teaching voice & piano with KPMS.

Ms. Bonagura holds a degree from the Eastman School of Music in Rochester, New York. While at Eastman, she performed in Eastman Opera Theatre productions, as well as in numerous concert performances. Most recently she performed a concert with world-renowned tenor, Gregory Kunde, in Rochester, New York.

Ms. Bonagura has spent many summers in Europe both performing and studying foreign languages. In the summer of 2005 she studied at the prestigious l'Université Paris-Sorbonne (IV), in Paris, France. In 2006 she performed in a touring production of Bellini’s La Sonnambula in Italy, followed by performances in the Festivale di Musica da Camera in Ripatransone, Italy. The following summer she studied German at the Goethe Institute in Berlin.
In addition to opera, Ms.Bonagura has had the pleasure of working directly with New Music composers performing in several world premiere performances.

Ms. Bonagura taught a successful studio of young singers in her hometown of Rochester, New York. She is very passionate about teaching the next generation of singers. She now resides in New York City where she continues to teach, and to pursue a career in Opera.

The annual Cherish our Children International (www.cherishourchildren.org) Benefit Concert, starring the KPMS Students & Faculty will take place, Sunday, March 8, 2009.

It is time to get started on the music, and the planning & the sponsorships.
This annual benefit concert is special for three reasons.
• It allows young musicians to play with other musicians & Pros (The faculty).
• IT supports students at any level to understand that they can make a difference with their talents for children less fortunate them themselves.
• It allows everyone involved to step into their own leadership, and raise sponsorships, much like one would for a walk-a-thon. (We use a secure wonderful website (www.firstgiving.com/cherishourchildren)

The concert will once again benefit Cherish our Children International. (www.cherishourchildren.org). COCI’s mission is to develop and fund projects and programs that provide a brighter future for the world's most vulnerable children.
