KPMS Notes
Fall 2009
Notes from the Director:
Dear Studio:
It is remarkable that we are almost complete with the fall semester. While it seemed to have gone very quickly, the ground taken by the students makes us proud & humbled all at the same time. A student has won a professional singing competition. One has been cast in a show, understudying a pro. Several are auditioning for colleges & many have been cast in shows & bands around the area. Congratulations to all, and a special thanks to the parents, and grandparents who make it all possible!

Garage Band Workshop is Back:
Jerry, I wanted to get back to you with a recommendation for the Garage Band. Bobby not only had a great time, but also learned a great deal. I think that the Garage Band concept is a natural considering the breadth of teachers in your Music school. It is one thing for a student to learn and practice by themselves, but completely another thing to play with others. That is the major benefit. The Garage Band still had the structure of a lesson but also had the synergies of the other musicians to play with. It is really important to listen and play with others in order to improve skills. Overall, it was a great learning experience for Bobby. I would definitely recommend it! Sue Biggar (Mother of Bobby Biggar, drummer)
